Author and Blogger Elyse Major is back with a few wallpaper crafts to freshen up your work from home office.
Working at home becoming a bit lackluster? Add some beauty to your surroundings by decorating everyday items into lovely accessories using pieces of Laura Ashley’s Peonies Dark Blush wallpaper. Chances are good that you have some of the basic supplies needed already hiding in your junk drawer or recycling bin. For a desk blotter, cut a length of wallpaper to place on your work surface and follow these steps to create a charming office set that includes pencil cups, clips, and book covers.
PENCIL CUP
What you will need:
- Tin can (emptied and rinsed well)
- Glue or tape
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Wallpaper
Instructions:
Measure and cut a length of wallpaper and wrap around the exterior of a can; secure where ends meet or overlap with glue or tape. Alternately, cut out motifs and affix using a glue stick.
CLIPS
What you will need:
- Glue stick
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Wallpaper
- Wooden Spring Clothespins
Instructions:
Cut wallpaper scraps into narrow strips and measure to fit the two top sections of the clothespin; affix wallpaper with glue – press gently to secure, and trim any overhang.
BOOK COVER
What you will need:
- Book or journal
- Scissors
- Wallpaper
Instructions:
Open a book and place horizontally pages-down over a sheet of wallpaper. You will want to cut the paper to be as tall as the book but keep at least two inches extra on each side to fold over to create a flap inside each cover. Band with a ribbon and tuck in a Laura Ashley Glasshouse Ballpoint pen.
