Known for her stylish interiors and classic aesthetic, Maggie is a big fan of using prints and patterns to define the personality of the room. “Having a variety of texture throughout your home can give a space life,” she adds. “I find that beautiful fabrics and wallpapers are an easy way to bring in texture, color, and a touch of sophistication.”
Here are Maggie’s easy ideas to add prints and texture through wallpaper and fabric in fun and creative ways:
1 – One of my favorite design tricks is lining the back of your bookshelves with wallpaper. This adds dimension and interest and is an easy way to add a pop of color or texture! This also helps disguise cheap bookshelf backings!

2 – You can create a pinboard using a piece of plywood, cotton batting, and fabric of your choice! This creates a beautiful and custom backdrop for life’s most important memos, photographs, and things you love. You can keep it simple with a beautiful linen fabric or use a fabric with pattern for some fun!

3 – Covering a lampshade with a fun print or a pop of color gives an instant update to a boring lamp. I love this because it is such an easy and inexpensive update to any space and sometimes the smallest detail can make the biggest impact!

We love how Maggie creates a mood board with swatches, vintage photos, and sayings to bring her design vision to life and all at-a-glance. It is a great way to visualize the room and make sure the prints you are using work well together.
